Things to Hate & Love About Running

This image reminds me that we can always take a moment to breathe. Always. #youtimecoach www.youtimecoach.com

Sometimes I run. These are some of the things I hate and love about this lovely form of torture:

Hate:
  1. When you are running past someone standing in their yard and they stare at you and check if their peripheral vision is working properly.
  2. When people yell out their window that I should accept my body for what it is, as if losing weight were the only reason I might be running. For your information, ma'am or sir, I love running.
  3. When strangers tell me I should be running when I take a walking break. Thank you, you who are sitting in your car.
  4. When someone passes you while you're running and they are definitely going faster than you. But they are going a shorter distance, obviously.
Love:
  1. The camaraderie amongst runners. When you see one another on a run, you give a cool nod. When you see them while in non-athletic clothes, you silently cheer them on.
  2. When you run to your favorite spot at the creek and there's no one there to bug you.
  3. When cars stop for you to cross.
  4. Sunsets from different vantage points. My favorites are usually on country roads.
  5. Random prayer spots.
