These are my thoughts on something I've noticed that I'm not quite sure how to feel about yet.
Christian hipsters really like to talk about the heart.
As in "He has a nice heart" or "Have you seen the heart on that girl?" or "Your heart to ______ (i.e., bake cakes/serve others/play bagpipes) is an inspiration to many people."
And I'm fairly certain that this is practically exclusive to the hipster Christians out there because I never hear a lot of that from "no stereotype" Christians. They would simply say "She has a great personality" or "You are an inspiration to many when you play your bagpipes."
So why is it that Christian hipsters do that?
I, with my extraordinary insight into such matters, will guess.
They want to be more poetic. Perhaps because "poetry" is what the "p" in hipster stands for or perhaps because throwing heart into the mix simply sounds nicer than leaving it out. I'm not really sure, but I do think that using the word "heart" excessively leaves the impression that one is cheesier than all the home furniture out there that says "Live, Laugh, Love" combined.
Try a new approach. Be the wall hanging that says "Laugh, Live, Love".
Or not. I really don't care that much since, like I said above, I'm not quite sure how to feel about this yet.
